처음 TV에서 오즈 광고를 봤을때, 그 광고에서 나오는 멜로디를 듣고 얼마나 반가웠는지 모른다...
그 멜로디가 어떤 멜로디인지 아는 사람이 얼마나 될지 모르겠다...
하지만 난 알고 있지...

내가 한참 팝의 세계에 눈 뜨기 시작한 80년대 후반...
미국에 살고 있었음에도 불구하고 팝에 눈을 늦게 뜬 이유는 엄마가 MTV를 못보게 했기 때문...
어쨌든, 친구들이 팝을 듣기 시작하니까 나도 덩달아 듣게 되었는데...

내가 8살이라는 나이에 워크맨을 사달라고 부모님께 조르고, 테이프를 떠빙해서 듣기 시작하게된 동기가 바로...
MC Hammer 아저씨 때문이었다...

흔히들 백인 래퍼하면 에미넴을 떠오르지만 나는 Vanilla Ice가 떠오른다...
어쨌든, Oz 광고에 나오는 멜로디가 바로 Vanilla Ice의 노래 Ice Ice Baby~의 멜로디다...

나처럼 맥미니를 사용한다거나 해킨토시를 사용해서 맥 전용 키보드를 따로 구입하지 않은 사람이라면 OSX에서 Home/End 키가 의도대로 작동하지 않아 애를 좀 먹었을지도 모르겠다.

OSX에서 일반 표준 키보드로 Home/End키를 사용하면  커서가 문서 앞/뒤로 이동한다고 한다...
(예전부터 의도한대로 Home/End 키가 작동하지 않아 잘 사용하지 않아 잘 모르겠다. 그런데 그렇단다)
알고 보니 "Command+좌우 방향키"로 Home/End를 대체할 수 있다고 한다...
(그런데 맥 전용 키보드에도 Home/End 키 있지 않나??? ㅡ.ㅡa)

어쨌든...
나는 블로그를 쓰다가 Home/End키 눌러서 원하지 않는 곳에 커서가 가버리는 바람에 짜증이 났던 적이 많았다.
(맥 구입 초기에 말이다... 몇번 그런 경험을 겪고 난 후  Home/End키 사용 안했다)
그리고 방금 전에는 "Command+좌우 방향키"를 시도해봤더니 firefox의 전페이지로 가기 기능이...
그래서 쓰던거 날려먹었다...

그러던중에 혹시 일반 표준 키보드로 OSX에서 Home/End키를  제대로  사용할 수 있는 방법이 있을것 같아서 검색해봤더니 역시 있었다... 다음 정보 출처는 여기 --> http://luv4.us/223

OSX에 기본으로 제공되는 TextEdit이라는 프로그램을 예전에 사용해본 결과 plain text문서는 작성 못했던거 같아서 Emacs를 깔아놨었는데, 이번 기회에 Emacs로 저 작업을 했다.

Emacs 어려운건줄 알았더니... 뭐 그냥 메모장 수준이네???
TextEdit이라는 OSX에서 기본적으로 제공하는 애플리케이션에서 왜 plain text문서로 저장이 안되는지 모르겠다??? 아니면 내가 뭔가 잘 모르고 있는건가??? rtf도 그냥 plain text랑 똑같은가???

아무튼 위의 작업을 한 후에 종료시켰다 다시 실행시킨 애플리케이션에 한해서 Home/End키가 먹는다고 한다. 이 실험 역시 Emacs에서 해봤는데, 잘 되더라는...

Anyway... I was at work, doing some documentation, and that phrase just came up to my from nowhere.

I looked up google to see if I had got the rule right...
And I found some interesting argument about that rule...

Someone argued about the word science...

Isn't that funny??? Never thought of that before...
All that I can say about that is...
I guess the rule only holds for the case where the combination of 'i' and 'e' sounds like e~

천안으로 처음 이사왔을때 집앞에 some ghetto  치킨집이 있었다... 이름도 굽네치킨이라고, 별로 땡기지 않는 가게 이름이었다... 그러던 어느날 갑자기 TV에서...

지금은 굽네시대~
라고 시녀시대가 말했다~

이 CF는 정말 corny하다... 핑클이 BBQ 치킨 CF 찍은거 보다 더 corny하다...
핑클 이 찍은 BBQ 치킨 광고는 그래도 제대로 찍은 듯했지만, 소녀시대가 찍은 굽네치킨 광고는 싸구려 필름으로 싸구려 스튜디오에서 찍은것 같았다... 영상 상태도 별로인것 같은데, 조명 문제인가??? 케이블 TV 수신 상태가 안좋아서 그런가 싶기도 하지만, 다른 광고에 비해 유독 싸구려티가 나길래, 소녀시대가 왜 이런 CF를 찍었나 싶었다...

어쨌든, 회사에서 점심시간에 Clien.net 자유게시판을 둘러보다가 굽네치킨을 사먹으면 소녀시대 브로마이드를 준다는 소식을 접하고 오늘 저녁은 치킨을 먹기로 했다. 마침 PL도 퇴근했겠다, 오늘 할 일은 그럭저럭 끝나서 나는 6시에 일찌감치 퇴근해서 바로 굽네치킨으로 향했다.


근데 왠걸... 브로마이드는 6월 1일부터 준단다 ㅡ.ㅡ;
안그래도 아주머니께 소녀시대 브로마이드 있냐고 물어본것도 좀 쪽팔렸는데 말이다...

순살 치킨 먹었다...
맛은 있는데, 너무 비싸다... 저 위의 사진 만큼이 \8,000... 펩시 빼고 닭만 \7,000...
그냥 마트에서 파는 전기구이 통닭에서 살만 발라놓은것이라고 생각하면 될듯...

소녀시대 브로마이드... 뭐 그거에 목숨 걸고 그런건 아니지만, 내가 원래 수집벽 같은게 좀 있는데다가 요새는 그냥 그런 작은 것에서 기쁨을 찾게 된다... 인생이 재미 없다고 고작 그런것에서 기쁩을 찾다니...

How many of you are aware that coke(Coca Cola brand) sold in Korea is not the same coke which is sold in the United States? I was told by someone that coke sold in Korea and in almost every other country besides USA is coke 2. However, this might not be true. Refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola.

According to Wikipedia(the reference from above), Coca Cola c2 is only sold in Japan. And I assume that what I heard about coke 2 is supposed to be c2.

Anyway, it is certainly true that Coca Cola sold in Korea is different from Coca Cola sold in the States.

See the difference?
Simply, coke sold in Korea is plain Coca Cola. Coke sold in the State is Coca Cola Classic.
How are they different??? I mean, besides the physical appearance of the can.
The formula is different, so the taste must be different. Recently, I was able to buy Coca Cola classic from a local store. Knowing that Coca Cola Classic is different from coke sold in Korea, I used to think that I miss it. I bought a 6 pack to see if it really tastes different, and to prove myself that I am missing the classical taste of coke.

According to my experiment, they are different. But it was almost impossible to distinguish them. Maybe I only thought they were different because I knew they were different. Next time, I should run this experiment with another person to help me run a blind test.



Anyway...
I still prefer Coca Cola Classic... for the sake of rarity...

This post is dedicated to 바람, who is currently confused with the terms that I used on March 17th's post(How is Aggregation and Composition different?) and which Wikipedia uses.

I am assuming that all the confusion started from the word object association which is a term used in Object-Oriented programming paradigm. According to Wikipedia, object association is described as a concept of building objects from other objects [1]. My understanding is that this word has nothing to do with the term association which describes the relationship between objects. The term association is used to define the relationship among objects when their scope does not overlap from one another. The concept of object association is also used to define the relationship among objects, but only when their scope is nested inside one another.

Recall that association is also called a "knows-a relationship" while aggregation and composition is called a "has-a relationship". I personally think that these simplified terms are descriptive enough for everyone to understand this topic better.

If I would elaborate more on association, association provides a mechanism to an object to interact between other objects within its own scope. If my explanation isn't clear for you and wish for more information, refer to [2]. For aggreation and composition, refer to [3].

Basically, my point here is that not to be confused with association among objects and the concept of object association.

없어진 웹페이지를 다시 보고 싶거나 변경된 페이지의 변경 전 페이지를 다시 찾아봐야 할 필요가 있었던 경우가 있습니까???
자주 사용하던 link가 깨졌거나, 자료 수집을 해서 꼬리에 꼬리를 물어 찾아간 link가 깨져있을때...
link는 살아있지만, 있었던 자료가 페이지 관리자에 의해 없어졌을때...
무지 화나죠???

저같은 경우에는 자주 사용하던 link가 깨졌을 경우에는 뭐... 그냥 그럴수도 있겠거니 하겠지만, 정말 어렵게 찾아간 link에 원하는 자료가 있을것만 같은데 깨져있다면 정말 분통 터집니다~

그럴때 여러분은 어떻게 하십니까???
그냥 그 자리에서 orz를 외치고 포기하고 마시나요???

왜냐면 우리에겐 the WayBackMachine이 있으니까요? 그게 뭐냐고요? 타임머신 쯤이라도 되냐고요?
뭐 그런건 아니지만 Universal Access to Human knowledge를 외치면서 web을 archive하는 비영리 단체가 있습니다. web을 archive하는 기준은 어떤건지 모르겠지만, 깨진 링크의 대부분은 거기서 찾을 수 있습니다. 거기다가 archive된 시간에 따라서 볼 수 있기 때문에 한 웹페이지의 변천사도 쉽게 볼 수 있습니다.

깨진 링크가 있을때는 http://www.archive.org가서 찾아보시기 바랍니다.

요 밑에 post에서도 사실은 [1] reference가 링크가 깨져있길래 WayBackMachine으로 찾았습니다. 그래서 [1] reference의 link 주소를 보면 http://web.archive.org... 이렇게 시작하는거죠...

When you would like to carry out a certain task regularly over time, you would use some kind of timing event so that the task could be taken place whenever an event arises. For Win32 applications,


and the associated event handler


would be a perfect option to use.

However, the accuracy of the timer can be very poor for some situations. An accuracy test performed by Chih-Hao Tsai at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign indicates that the accuracy of SetTimer showed average error of 10 ms [1].

I found this out since I had to sample some data from hardware within 10 ms at work. The max resolution that I was able to acheive with SetTimer() was about 15 ms. The reason for the (relatively) inaccurate timing could be found from Windows NT SRMS Service research page by Azer Bestavros and Adrian Prezioso at [2]. Apparently, the 15ms resolution wasn't good enough. So I was looking for a better solution.

After doing some research (but more like web surfing), I found out that the Multimedia Timers provided in Winmm.lib guarantees better timing resolution. Reported to provide resolution up to 1 ms. [3] is an excellent reference written by Nemanja Trifunovic for Multimedia Timers and some other various timers as it discusses their characteristics and uses.

In [3] there are some tiny details that I suppose were omitted accidentally by the author. But I also forgot what it was. I will try to include that information later asap.
